I enjoyed the book. A bit too wordy and unnecessary details in some places; but still a pretty good read.Disappointed with some of the detail at the end of the book however. Deborah, the heroin, in the final struggle with her captor, sustained a throat injury when his knife grazed her neck and drew blood. Yet when the vilain was killed and the main couple returned home, her husband Mathew's injury was mentioned, but strangely, nothing was said about Deborah's wound. Even her mother had not tended to the cut or even mentioned it, which seemed unrealistic and an important detail to omit.
So that made the ending a litte less believable and less enjoyable. Therefore some details were unnecessary, yet a crucial one was forgotten. Careful fine tuning in the review would perhaps be an important step before publishing.
Having said this however, Anna Jacobs does have a lovely talent, regardless of some oversights.

Mistress of Marymoor edition by Anna Jacobs Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I normally like Anna Jacobs, but have definitely preferred her earlier novels. This book was mildly enjoyable.
I bought this book at
Ricky Hutchinson
I wasn't sure if I would like this book when I first started reading it. However, the more I read the more it drew me in. I am an avid reader and having said that I am not afraid to try all kinds of books. This was a real surprise. Enjoyed it very much! Would recommend (and have) to other people.
Anna Jacobs always delivers a very sound read in her stories. They are well packed with detail and facts and this makes her stories a delight. Recommended.
This was a perfect match of two people, or was it. I loved the way they moved from England to Australia, with lots of problems for them to face, before they were to make it as a happy couple.
Anna Jacobs is one of the best writers I have ever read. It's so sad when you finish her books. You get so tried up with the people that you feel like a fly on the wall watching people play a scene in real life. Another great read.
This was a typical Anna Jacobs read. Very nice story, It kept the pages turning , and was well worth the time spent on it.
I would highly recommend it to all readers of this type of story. 19th century English nobility Go for it!
Another great book by Anna Jacobs, This book is set in 1759, so this writer can do any era. This book will make your emotions go from sorrow to anger to hope and so on and so on. A well written novel, has all the things that make a great book. A must read. Well done again Anna Jacobs.
