This is an amazing and life changing book. More than philosophy, it is a guide to healthy eating that relies on wisdom lost in our modern society. Ms. Ardalan has developed a new way of using old wisdom to cook healthy and nutritious meals.
I was amazed when I found that Avicenna Cuisine answered questions that had haunted me since my childhood. Growing up in the Middle East I was often told not to eat such-and-such with such-and-such because that would cause my digestive system to react in a negative way to too much of a cold temperament or too much of a hot temperament. I had no idea where such notions came from until I read Avicenna Cuisine. Avicenna (Ibn Sina) Cuisine tells me exactly how to determine my temperament and that of the foods I eat so that I keep my body in balance. Thank you Samira Ardalan for finding the answer to my life-long questions.
